Moonlight 2020
Aug. 29th, 2020 05:47 pmMoonlight: A Cybersix Exchange

Schedule
-Sign-ups from September 15-22. Information on how to sign up will be posted here and at c6exchange.tumblr.com. Timezone is roughly UTC.
-Assignments go out on the 25th at the latest.
-Assignments are due on October 26. You may still edit your work after the 26th, but you must have uploaded a complete, readable draft to the AO3 collection by the 26th. Otherwise, we will count you as having dropped out.
Requirements for signing up:
-You must have an AO3 account. (If you don’t have one by the time sign-ups start, get in touch with the mod, who can send you an invite.)
-You must be older than 18 years of age.
-You will be asked to provide answers to the following questions:
What is your ao3 name?
Who are you interested in writing fic about(List at least 4 characters)?
Would you prefer to receive fic, art, or both?
Who would you like fic about(Select at least 2 characters)?
What prompts/pairings do you have in mind?
What are a few things you generally enjoy reading in fanfic?
Any DNWs (Do Not Wants, things that you do not want to receive fic/art featuring)?
DNWs
-DNW, or Do Not Wants are things that you are opting out from receiving. DNWing a thing does not mean that you are against it in real life, or never enjoy stories featuring it. It just means that you don’t want a story featuring it in this specific exchange.
-DNWs have to be clear and easy to avoid, without forcing the author to write one specific thing or drastically alter canon.
Matching
-Matching will be done first on medium, then based on characters. You are guaranteed to get one work of fic (or art if you have opted into that) featuring one of your selected characters.
-If we cannot match you to a recipient, we will contact you and give you 24 hours to change your sign-up. The mod would rather avoid this, and will assign some people more than one writer.
-If we cannot match you to a writer, your sign-up will be posted publicly on this journal as a Pinch Hit. It can be claimed (and subsequently crossed off the list) by anyone who contacts the mod by askbox or e-mail to ‘claim’ it by submitting a completed draft. The collection will not open until the PH list is empty.
Dropping out
-If you cannot fulfil your assignment, please drop out by communicating this to the mod using tumblr or e-mail.
-If you have not uploaded a draft that stands on it’s own as a complete story after the 26th, you will count as having dropped out. -Your ex-recipient’s sign-up will go to the Pinch Hit List.
Fulfilling your assignment -To fulfil your assignment, you must post a fic to the designated ao3 collection as a gift to the person you are writing for. It must have a 300 word minimum word count. The assignment must be written in good faith, and avoid the recipients stated DNWs.
-Alternatively, if your recipient is open to art, you may draw a nice sketch that measures at least 500x500 pixels.
-Be nice to each other. Being mean to other participants is grounds for banning. This includes speculating about why someone’s DNWs look the way they do.
Guidelines
We won't be enforcing these, but keeping them at the back of your mind may help your exchange experience.
-You can prompt something extremely dark, but keep in mind that your writer may not want to write that, and has no obligation to. A good rule of thumb is to have at least one prompt that fits the tone of the cartoon, even if it uses characters from the comic.
-Try and write something that your giftee will enjoy. If none of the prompts will do, you're free to ignore them, as long as your gift is written in good faith.
-You’re only obligated to produce one single gift, but we won’t stop you from writing more. If you like your recipient’s prompts, feel free to do as many as you like.
-List your ships and prompt for them! It’s a good idea to have at least one non-shippy prompt featuring the selected character(s), in case the writer doesn’t feel like shipping.
Example sign-up
Ao3 name: CrunchyCrisp
Character: Maura Click, Cybersix
Requested medium: Fic and/or Art
Prompts and ships:
-Maura gets drawn into one of Cybersix's adventures. Her heroine addiction puts her in contact with Meridiana's underworld, which lands her in trouble.
-Maura drags Cyb out on a shopping trip, showing her what 'Girl' s night out' is about.
Pairings: Maura/Cybersix
-Professor Seidelman starts 'seeing' Maura regularly, to keep Lori off of 'his' back.
-Maura rescues Cybersix. This leads to a romantic car chase, but there's a kiss at the end.
Things I generally like reading about in fanfic: Averting bank robberies, girly clothes, rescue romances, fast cars, fluff.
DNWs: Graphic depictions of child abuse (Hinting at it is ok but please don’t write about it in detail), jell-o pudding, polyamory bashing, romantic/physical attraction between Dataseven and ‘normal’ animals.
